In order to use the free trial, you still need to purchase the fitness sensor hardware as seen below. We recommend ordering and having the sensor hardware in hand before starting your free Virtual Exercise Trial so you can get the full 14-day use of it. We also suggest ordering the sensor hardware from companies that have a good return policy in case you need to return them after using the Trial.
Virtual Exercise Fitness Hardware
***Keep in mind that Virtual Exercise only works with ANT+ devices and not Bluetooth devices
1. Regardless of whether you will be using Virtual Exercise with a treadmill or an exercise bike you will need to purchase a USB ANT mini stick (ANTUSB-m) and it must look exactly like this:

2. If you will be running or walking on a treadmill, you need to purchase an ANT+ Stride Sensor that easily attaches to your shoelaces and looks like this:

The Stride Sensor can be purchased HERE or anywhere else that you prefer.
3. If you will be biking, the sensor hardware you will need will depend on what type of bike you will be using and whether you want to send Speed only data to Virtual Exercise, or Speed and Cadence data.
a. If you will be using a bike on a bike trainer and are interested in speed data but not cadence data, then a speed sensor attached to your rear wheel hub makes the most sense as seen here:

If you will be using a bike on a bike trainer and are interested in speed and cadence data, you can either use the above rear wheel hub speed sensor and add a cadence sensor to either pedal crank arm, or use a combination sensor that transmits both speed and cadence data at the same time. Examples of each can be seen below:

c. If you will be using a spinning bike or regular stationary bike and are interested in speed data but not cadence data, you will use a speed hub sensor similar to the one found in 3 (a) above but instead attach it to either pedal crank arm as seen in 3 (b) above.
d. If you will be using a spinning bike or regular stationary bike and are interested in speed and cadence data, you can attach a speed sensor to one pedal crank arm and a cadence sensor to the other arm as seen in 3 (b) above, or attach each of the sensors side by side on the same pedal crank arm as seen below, and you can purchase these sensors at the above links:
